Whether or not to accept foreign migrants on a large scale is a controversial issue. Personally, I think we should increase the number of foreigners in Japan for the following two reasons.
外国からの移住者を大々的に受け入れるべきかどうかは、議論の余地がある問題です。個人的には、以下の２つの理由により、日本国内の外国人をもっと増やすべきだと思います。
The first reason is that “diversity” enriches culture and lifestyle, which in turn leads to economic power. Of course, conflicts and troubles will occur due to differences in culture and language, but in the process of overcoming such stages, I think that people will deepen their understanding of “diversity” and gain the wisdom to prosper together.
1つ目の理由は、「多様性」により、文化やライフスタイルが豊かになり、ひいてはそれが経済力にも繋がるからです。 もちろん、文化や言語の違いによる対立やトラブルは発生するでしょうが、そういったステージを乗り越える過程で、人々は「多様性」の理解を深め、共に繫栄する知恵をつけていくと思います。
The second reason is that foreign workers can compensate for the tax revenues that are drastically reduced due to the shortage of workers. The welfare pension, which is said to go bankrupt as it is, could be supported by immigrants from abroad.
2つ目の理由は、労働者不足によって激減する税収を、外国人労働者によって補填する事が出来るからです。 このままでは破綻すると言われている厚生年金も、外国からの移住者によって支える事が出来るのではないでしょうか？
In conclusion, in terms of the benefits of diversity and tax revenues from foreign residents, I think Japan should accept more immigrants from abroad.
結論として、多様性のもたらす恩恵と、外国人居住者からの税収の観点において、私は日本は海外からの移民をもっと受け入れるべきだと思います。

Some say that more foreign immigrants should be accepted, while others say that Japan is not yet ready for it. I believe that the number of foreign residents should not be increased for the following two reasons.
外国からの移民をもっと受け入れるべきだという人たちがいる一方で、日本はまだその準備ができていない、と言う人々もいます。私は、以下の2つの理由により、外国人居住者を増やすべきではないと考えています。
The first reason is that Japan, which is an island country, has so many cultural differences and language barriers compared to other countries that there is a high possibility of trouble with immigrants. An example of the fact that “Japanese people report lost and found wallets to police boxes” was introduced as surprising news on the BBC shows an overwhelmingly different culture and values.
1つ目の理由は、島国である日本は、他国と比べて文化の違いと言語の壁があまりにも大きいので、移民とのトラブルの可能性が頻発すると思います。 「日本人は、落とし物の財布を交番に届け出る」という一例が、BBCで驚きのニュースとして紹介されていた、というのが圧倒的に違う文化や価値観を示しています。
The second reason is that while there are still many unemployed Japanese people, hiring foreign workers may cause conflict between Japanese and foreign residents.
2つ目の理由は、日本人の失業者がまだまだ多い中、外国人労働者を採用すると、日本人と外国人との対立の原因になるかと思います。
In conclusion, in terms of overwhelming cultural differences and domestic unemployment, I believe that the acceptance of foreign migrants should not be increased.
結論として、圧倒的な文化の違いと国内失業率の観点から、私は、外国からの移民の受け入れは拡大させるべきではないと考えます。
まとめ
物事を両側面から考えることで、「多様性 = Diversity」感覚が身につくのではないでしょうか？
現在、人口減少が加速中の郊外在住の著者は、さびれていく町を見るのが悲しいですが、周りには高齢者が多いので、実際に外国からの居住者が一気に増えた場合、地元の高齢者の人たちがトラブルに巻き込まれないか心配です。
通訳やガイドラインなどの受け入れ体制がしっかりと出来上がり、両者が共存共栄していける社会になるのが理想的ですね。
