I think the number of Japanese learners will increase for two reasons.
2つの理由により、日本語学習者の数は増えると思います。
The first is the popularity of Japanese anime and manga. The movie “Demon slayer” should attract more and more attention to Japanese.
1つ目はやはり、日本アニメや漫画の人気です。映画「鬼滅の刃」により、日本語に対する注目度は益々高まるはずです。
Secondly, due to the aging society, Japan will accept more workers from overseas in the future, so the number of Japanese language schools will increase.
2つ目は、高齢化社会によって、日本は今後海外からの労働者をもっと受け入れていくことになり、日本語学校の数も増えるからです。

I don’t think the number of Japanese learners will increase for two reasons.
２つの理由により、日本語学習者の数は増えないと思います。
First, many people give up at the beginner’s stage because Japanese is too difficult. There are too many Chinese characters, so it takes too long to learn Japanese.
1つ目は、日本語が難しすぎるため、初心者の段階であきらめてしまう人が多いです。漢字の数も多すぎるため、日本語習得には時間がかかりすぎます。
Second, the progress of automatic translators will reduce the demand for learning not only Japanese but also foreign languages.
2つ目は、自動翻訳機の進歩により、日本語だけでなく、外国語習得そのものも需要が減ると思います。
