Despite the remarkable movement to mitigate climate change around the world, I think that the damage caused by extreme weather will continue to increase.
世界中で気候変動を緩和する動きが顕著とはいえ、私は2つの理由により、今後も、異常気象による被害は拡大し続けると思います。
First of all, I don’t think that problem behaviors will be improved because there is little awareness of how global warming, which triggers abnormal weather, is linked to human lifestyles. Even with knowledge, no modern person can stop using useful and fashionable goods to stop global warming.
まず、異常気象のトリガーとなる地球温暖化が、人間のライフスタイルとどのようにリンクしているのか、という認識が浅いため、問題行動が改善されないと思います。たとえ知識があったとしても、地球温暖化を止めるために、便利グッズやおしゃれグッズをやめることの出来る現代人はいません。
Secondly, I think the environment has been destroyed to a level that cannot be restored even with the latest technology. Even solar panels developed as alternative energy are often adversely affecting the surrounding ecosystem.
第二に、最新技術を用いても、復元出来ないレベルまで環境は破壊されていると思います。代替エネルギーとして開発された太陽光パネルでさえ、周囲の生態系に悪影響を与えているケースも頻発しています。

大型台風が来るたびに「あー、異常気象、なんとかしなきゃ」と思いますが、台風一過の晴れた週末には「いい天気！ ドライブに出かけよう」と途中のコンビニでペットボトル飲料を買ってしまう。。。そんな事を繰り返しながら、いつの日か、何もかも台風で吹き飛ばされてしまうのでしょうか？？
経済効果と環境保護。。。どうやって両立させればいいんでしょうね。。
